PS Plus weekend – you can play online multiplayer games for free

(Pocket-lint) – Sony has revealed a nice little holiday bonus for gamers who don’t have a PlayStation Plus subscription, in the form of a weekend of free multiplayer gaming this weekend, on the 18th and December 19.

While the weekend doesn’t mean you’ll get free access to all the games you don’t own, it will get you started with any multiplayer games you haven’t been able to access yet, giving you a few days of Playstation Plus.

PlayStation’s own marketing around the event includes Call of Duty: Vanguard and FIFA 22, among others, but the reality is that you can use access on any title you like, as long as it offers a multiplayer mode.

Sony is likely hoping that many people will try the service and be convinced enough to keep it on a paid plan once the weekend is over. This would also, of course, allow them access to the monthly free games that PlayStation offers, as well as the various additional discounts and in-game bonuses that PlayStation Plus also gives you.
