PetroVietnam celebrates 60 years of traditional celebration | Business
Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) organized a series of activities on November 24 and 25 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the traditional day in the oil and gas industry (November 27, 1961 – November 27, 2021).
An online ceremony to welcome the first flow of oil from the BK-18A and BK-19 oil rigs was hosted by Vietnam-Russia oil and gas joint venture Vietsovpetro on November 24.
Other activities include a ceremony to celebrate the completion of the production target ahead of schedule, and ceremonies to receive the certificate of the 500 most profitable companies in Vietnam in 2021, announce the PetroVietnam brand, launch a book on the history of Vietnam’s oil and gas industry and a textbook on PetroVietnam culture.
Previously, Vietsovpetro officially tapped the first stream of oil extracted from the BK-18A oil rigs on November 10 and from the BK-19 oil rig on November 13. These new generation unmanned mini oil rigs were designed by Vietsovpetro and built in the Bach Ho Oil Field in Lot 09-1 on the Vietnam Continental Shelf, about 125 km southeast of the city of Vung Tau.
The BK-18A was designed to harness oil and gas from six wells with a total capacity of 1360 tonnes.
Meanwhile, BK-19 was built and put into service to keep Vietsovpetro’s total oil production at 3 million tonnes, as set by the 2021 plan.
The successful construction of the two oil rigs proves that Vietsovpetro has been very proactive and continues to be consistent in its direction of detailed research of optimal design solutions for the development of small and marginal fields.
At the same time, through the synchronous implementation of the elements of these projects, Vietsovpetro also continues to assert its ability to implement Engineering, Construction and Installation (EPCI) projects in the development of deposits. of oil and gas on the continental shelf of Vietnam.
PetroVietnam Managing Director Le Manh Hung highly appreciated Vietsovpetro’s great efforts in production and business activities in 2021.
Vietsovpetro’s main production targets all exceeded plan, with oil and condensate production reaching over 3.16 million tonnes (equivalent to 105.4 percent of plan), and oil and gas sales. gas reaching nearly $ 1.6 billion (or 147.5 percent of setting a target).
Vietsovpetro contributed more than $ 866 million to the state budget, exceeding nearly $ 287 million and reaching 150 percent of the plan established for the year.
This is an impressive achievement for the company in 2021, especially in the context of the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The outstanding results of production and business activities are the basis for PetroVietnam to be consecutively honored in the Top 500 Most Profitable Companies in Vietnam for many consecutive years.
This year, PetroVietnam won the title again and received the honor at a ceremony on November 25.
At gas well 61, Vietnam first discovered gas and condensate flows, opening up a bright future for the cause of the country’s industrialization and modernization.
The gas well, the first discovered in March 1975 in the structure of Tien Hai C in Dong Co commune, Tien Hai district, northern province of Thai Binh, allowed Vietnam to enter the promising sector of gas.
Notably, also in Thai Binh, one of the cradles of the national oil and gas industry, PetroVietnam announced its new brand identification – PETROVIETNAM, demonstrating the group’s efforts to grasp new world trends and its desire to achieve its new visions and missions.
To give workers and people an overview of the oil and gas industry, the group has compiled a 325-page book presenting the history and development of the sector over the past 60 years.
On this occasion, a wide range of events were organized across the country to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the creation of the sector, in line with Prevention of COVID-19 and control regulations.
The group was determined to overcome the difficulties and challenges to achieve the dual objective of tackling the pandemic while maintaining production and business activities.
PetroVietnam said it had reached the target of 7.99 million tonnes of oil production set for this year, 42 days ahead of schedule.
In the first ten months of this year, despite numerous hardships due to the COVID-19 outbreak that resulted in prolonged social distancing and a disruption in the supply chain of supplies and equipment, the group, in coordination with subcontractors, has strived to achieve its objectives. target.
The early completion of the oil production plan is a great effort by PetroVietnam against the background of declining natural production from existing oil and gas fields after a long period of exploitation and investment and problems related to mechanisms for the development of new fields.
Through the application of scientific and technological solutions to improve oil recovery, the group has reached the maximum exit from operation in terms of technical security, taking advantage of the market opportunities of rising oil prices to make the highest contribution to the state budget.
PetroVietnam contributed 75.4 trillion dong (US $ 3.3 billion) to the state budget in the first 10 months of 2021, exceeding 21% of the 2021 plan and up 23% from the same period Last year./.
