Victim airlifted after tractor-trailer crash near Basin Road

BAKER, Calif. (March 11, 2022) – An unidentified person was injured Thursday afternoon, after a collision with a large truck on Interstate 15.

The accident happened around 1:35 p.m. on March 3. Crews arrived at the scene on southbound Interstate 15 near Basin and Afton Road.

According to reports, the incident involved two large rigs; a purple tractor pulling an empty cargo trailer and a white tractor carrying empty mobile buckets.

The purple tractor rammed the white tractor in unclear circumstances. Paramedics then requested a medical helicopter for the driver of the large purple truck who was injured.

Eventually, the driver was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center in an unknown condition.

Additionally, the large purple truck spilled approximately 100 gallons of diesel fuel onto the roadway as a result of the collision.

At this time, authorities have no further information about the crash, but an active investigation is ongoing.
